The services that we got were phenomenal. I say within about three or four months we were able to get approved although the credit isn’t too bad there is past eviction. Yes! A major update!!!

I had forgot over the weekend I had set up an appointment to look at a condo.. they owners have called me when they were at the property waiting for me to come and I felt really bad so I got up and went there right away was a little late..I sincerely didn't think they were going to approve me or anything..

 BUT when I went in.. it felt like home.. Two bedrooms in the henderson area that I wanted and they had the rent listed as 1700 but they liked me and gave it to me for 1650!!!

I have the keys in hand and I move in Saturday and my deposit and move in cost is 2800 that includes this months Rent!!!!!!

I'm so very thankful I am so overjoyed thank you for spending the last month with me helping me find a home I appreciate you and I learned so much thank you again and I have a home finally!!!!

  TRUE TESTIMONY I was very skeptical on going with this company because it’s so many scams out here but I took a chance & don’t regret it at all! I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Leyma and Marie for their incredible dedication, hard work, and patience throughout this journey. When I first learned about the Second Chance Program, I was skeptical—especially because of the fee involved. I feared it might be another empty promise, and that nothing would come from the list of apartments I was encouraged to apply for. To my surprise, the response was immediate. I received a list of potential homes faster than I ever expected. Even more astonishing, the very first property I contacted—Villa Buena—already knew my story. My husband and I have struggled for years due to poor credit and a bankruptcy on our record. Time and again, we were turned away despite having the financial means to pay rent. The rejection emails became routine, and the frustration of being denied despite being ready and able to move was overwhelming. But then came Angelina from Villa Buena. I first heard about second chance apartments three years ago I stumbled upon the website,  crying due to the fact I am in an abusive marriage, not physical, but married to a true blue narcissist. It was three years ago right about the time we were gonna sign our lease he started scaring me saying all these different things knowing that I couldn’t afford our apartment on my own due to no rental history and not making enough money.I called them up. Wasn’t sure if I was prepared yet to leave, but they took their time with me checked up on me for months after . It turned out I wasn’t ready yet. The second year same time the lease was coming up different scare tactic so he could be the hero at the end of the day and swoop in and say oh no I’ll stay with you. Let’s keep it the lease going again. So respectively told them that I’m gonna sign again with my husband. And from time to time, they would always check up on me. They were there for me again. Not intrusive just a soft feeling that someone if you needed them they would pick back up where you left off and I felt that from them and it meant a lot to me.Here we are third year ready to sign the lease. He starts scaring me about two months ago. I started thinking about calling second chance apartments again and one day I did but this time I was ready I paid my $189 the best money I’ve ever spent not only do they walk you through the process step-by-step they give you emotional support that really was appreciated and needed. Her name was Esther. She started the ball rolling walking me through she was sweet and genuine and really took the time to talk and listen to me . The next step was when Esther assigned me,Leyma ,she jumped in went straight to work. I paid the 189.00 I started receiving apartments at least six or seven the first day. I looked up some that I was interested in also. The next day, Leyma got in contact with mostly everybody or left messages two or three times and it was very easy to read her bullet points with each apartment. I already had my favorite in mind so I was ready to put my application in. I’m a pharmacy technician I do not make a lot of money but still in all they found me an apartment I loved. Again, I’m considered low credit because I don’t have a history but because of second chance  apartments being my advocate made it smooth sailing. I am proud to say that I will be moving into my new apartment shortly. I can’t thank them enough from the bottom of my heart as I’m writing this I’m crying happy tears. Who ever needs to hear this Know that it works and they are to help you, and want too see you succeed. I am literally just seeing your message. The leasing agent called me back yesterday and said that the approval was back on again. She stated that the her Boss said as long as I was able to pay the bond fee. So it looks like a go again. 

 

The leasing agent requested my bank statements which I sent over and I also downloaded my direct deposit pay stubs and sent them over as well. Everything should be good to go now, but I will keep you updated. The bond fee is hefty so I might be moving in the middle of next month. Nonetheless, you will know where and when. Thanks for the new listings. I will take a look at them on GP.

It was a very helpful resource in that it gave me a list of options who’d be willing to look past my fairly mild criminal background. I have good credit and paid the entire lease up front, which I’m sure helped, but the experience should be very similar for anyone who is working and meets their income requirements. My husband and I cannot thank you and Home Rental Helpers enough for helping us find our new home in Atlanta, GA. My husband and I had been trying the search on our own since February of 2025. It had been a hard road due to life circumstances. We had an eviction and our rental history background and we also had some credit issues. I was at a point where I didn’t think it would be possible for us to find a new place. We decided to reach out to Home Rental Helpers and see if they could possibly help us out with our search. After signing with them we were immediately contacted by Dory Smith. We filled out the questionnaire that was sent to us and within the next day or so we were sent a pdf with places that we could look at to see if we were interested. After selecting some, Dory immediately went to work. The process does take time, but to show you how God works we were able to find a place that would work with us and it only took one month. We signed up with Home Rental Helpers in April and were able to find our new home in May. Dory was always accommodating and her response time was always on point. She answered every question and if she did not have the answer she would check with her colleagues and immediately follow-up. I would definitely recommend Dory and Home Rental Helpers. I cannot tell you how happy we are with the service they have provided to us. My experience with Home Rental Helpers was extremely satisfactory! Ms. Dory Smith, my case manager, since day one, was wonderful, diligent, and greatly professional. She took care of me like she knew me from before; keeping me updated regularly. At first, I was very concerned that I would not find a place to live fast enough because I had limited time before my current lease ended. Also, my credit score was very low for having accounts in collections being paid through a special program to reduce debt and late payments to credit cards. A little before I found Home Rental Helpers, I had already applied for an apartment and I was denied the application based on my credit report. Ms. Dory took my case and made wonders! She was patient enough to provide me with plenty of time and various options until I found one apartment that met my needs. “My husband and I were both in a tough spot. Our landlord randomly decided to sell the property we lived in for the past 7 years, and we were not in a great position to move. Both our credit scores were very low and as my husband works as a freelancer, on paper we only had one steady income. I felt doomed, but fortunately I came across Home Rental Helpers. Yes I wasn’t a believer at first cause every time I receive a email it said no one was responding or answering calls even from the list Second Chance was giving me I was mad staying in a hotel running out of money I wanted a refund prayed then I received a call that I was approved so I had to apologize to Esther my case manager cause I swore I was getting scammed. I am really grateful to have Esther’s help in finding a home. I was evicted due to a layoff, and was getting rejected by every apartment I applied to. I really needed a home, and was living in a hotel, and renting rooms from strangers. After several months doing it on my own, paying expensive application fees, and wasting a lot of time, I finally broke down and hired a leasing agent. Esther worked alongside me for 2 months searching apartments, responding promptly to my request, and making dozens of calls on my behalf. I was starting to feel hopeless and scared, but Esther always had a new idea or strategy for us to try. She finally identified a complex that approved my application without absorbent fees and deposits. I found a home where I can work, and feel safe. Second Chance helped me find an apartment by first paying a fee of almost $200 it is worth it! Next you will be assigned to a case work who will contact you through phone and email.  Was asked what area would I prefer and my case worker sent a list of places within area and my budget. My issue was my credit and having an eviction. Case worker Jo always kept in communication with me. Any person I talked to was kind and judgment free. Ended up getting approved faster with an apartment over renting a house. Blessed I didn’t have a bad experience and hopes this helps someone who is feeling skeptical!

My experience with Home Help Rentals was amazing. After losing my best friend, I was sent into depression which then I had took off months of work. Everything was very smooth sailing. I thought it would have taken longer in order to find an apartment that would accommodate my situation. First and foremost, I want to say God is so Good.  I did some research about second chance programs and came across Home Rental Helpers. I emailed about me losing my apartment on Sep 26 and expressing my wish which was to be back under one roof with my boys from being separated and having separation anxiety by Christmas and He/they delivered. I couldn’t do it without The help of Eshter. The moment she was assigned to my case she has been consistent with making calls, leaving voicemails giving me updates and also providing recommendations. I ain’t gonna lie At first, I was getting discouraged lol because I wasn’t getting the results I was looking for but that wasn’t the plan that God had in store for me. Also it has absolutely nothing to do with the work and effort Eshter has put in. She was patient with me as I still held tight to my faith. I’m feeling soooo much relief after going with Home Rental Heplers to help me find my new home. As Charlotte NC is growing at such a fast rate, it’s becoming more difficult to find a new place to live and have swift results.

I was referred to Home Helpers from a friend who has used them in the past and it gave me the inspiration I needed to trust a helper company for almost anything these days.

I want to give a big shout of & thank you to Ms. Esther. She was a wonderful help & person to have working to help find me a new home. The last time I had an apartment was four years ago, freshly out of college trying to hold my own weight. I had a few issues I could not handle on my own so I had no choice to move. I was hoping around to different places trying to make a living for myself and I could not bear to not have my own space. I ended up getting an another apartment last year and was dealing with a tough time losing my grandma & not long after that having to let go of my job at the hospital. I was just 20 years old at this point trying to start over for myself. Where I was living last year I  was not happy with how management did not have my apartment ready and I had some issues with flooding. Then moved me to an another unit that had issues as well no safe environment. I had no choice but to go to work to show my evidence and tell my slide but the apartments still wanted me out. Me and my sister were out of a home and was struggling really bad until we moved in with her mom. I was only without a job for a month and being in the health field starting off early as 18, getting my first hospital job for three years and without a job for a month I was able to get hired as a certified traveling medical assistant through my job. Traveling around to local areas, getting back into school and making a living. My  sister finally was able to find a place so we moved  in together. Seeing god allowing us to take our next few steps to a good path was amazing. The lease was coming to an end and we both agreed to move back into our own spaces. My friend at the time informed me about a place called a second chance. I never heard of the company before but she told me it was a good company and go check out. So last month I called in and paid my deposit to get my process started. I was very anxious and worried that I probably wasn’t going to be able to find something in a good timely manner due to me thinking I had and eviction. I found out my background was clear, my credit scores went up. I requested a new case manager to work quickly with me on this because I felt like it was a 50/50. Ester gave me a call to info me she was my new case manager and was able to clam me down in the process to Iet me know she was going to find me a home. She sent me two links and I told her let’s processed. One of them she was able to get in touch with a day later and the other one she had to leave a voicemail. After she got in touch with me apartments she updated me within 24 hours and told me there requirements. I went ahead and did my application. Me and Esther stayed in touched since last Tuesday eagerly waiting my results. During this time frame I found out I have cardiac arrhythmia and have strongly been praying to god asking him to allow me to be back in my own space for my health and a fresh new start. On 9/30/24 I received a call being informed I was approved for my new home ! It took from 09/18/24 to 9/30/24 for Esther to find me a new home. I was thanking god for allowing Esther to help me having a second chance at living back on my own again after four years of running around & from last year. I thank you Esther for your hard work & encouragement. You have allowed me to live a second chance for a fresh new start ! I highly recommend anyone going through what may seem like a hard time to go through a second chance.

What you may not know is that at the beginning of my search for a new home, I had been scammed and denied more than I would like to remember. That’s when I came across your company “Home Rental Helpers”. At first because of all that I had gone through with other people, I was a bit reluctant to try you guys out. But I must say that it was one of the best decisions that I’ve made!

Working with Esther as my case manager made the search a breeze! She was extremely responsive and helpful when it came down to EVERYTHING! She didn’t just handle one part but she handled it all, as if she were applying for a place for herself.

She was actually more responsive than I was. She would respond so quickly that sometimes I didn’t check my email until the next day when I would realize that she had already emailed me the day before and I was late on my responses.

I would like to rate the company Second Chance an A! 

My issues wasn’t about credit, It was about an old balance on a previous property. 

I was never evicted or did not have a criminal back round. The balance was me giving 30 days notice instead of 60 days to not renew my lease at the time, also the facility charged me for carpet,  blinds, normal wear & tear on the unit. 

I also was charged for things in the unit that was left behind due to me not being able to to get help with removal at the time.

 However, my case worker Ms. Jo Hernandez was very helpful in finding a spot that dealt with balances through a special program called Guarantors that determines your security deposit when you move in despite of any balances!!

 I will definitely recommend this Second Chance  Program & Caseworker Ms. Jo Hernandez to anyone who needs it. I paid $189 and signed up with this program Aug 8,2024 and was able to find my apt Aug 29,2024 and got a sweet deal.  Thank you Second Chance!!

Hello Esther,

My husband and I actually went by the apartment this morning. We have an approval basically. It’s just on the desk of the manager to sign it, but she’s been out this week on medical leave. She will be back Monday and sign it. What they should have told us in the beginning is because this property is a tax credit property, the process takes longer because each step has three steps to it to ensure that they really are giving the income restricted units to people that really have income restrictions. Even though my unit is a market unit, we still had to go through the same steps as everyone else. With my older daughters not having Credit, that slowed things down because they had to get an override from the district manager to proceed. 

They ended up giving my unit to someone whose process didn’t take as long, but they allocated me a new unit and those tenants move out next week. They will give me the welcome letter next week and I’ll then be able to have the power connected in my name to get any work done. They’ll then reimburse me for any charges accrued before my move in.

It was a very helpful resource in that it gave me a list of options who’d be willing to look past my fairly mild criminal background. I have good credit and paid the entire lease up front, which I’m sure helped, but the experience should be very similar for anyone who is working and meets their income requirements. All in all, I’d say it was a very positive experience with follow ups to make sure things went well.

I have explained everything that you are in the middle of an eviction when you apply. You need to state why you got evicted and want to make sure you can pay your rent. What is your monthly income before tax? UPDATE: I sent a letter to the Judge requesting the Eviction be removed from my background record. I was sent the link to check to see how others checking my background would be viewed. When I checked the link, it wasn’t even there.

The studio apartment that I was In Love with got rented. There is another one in the same complex of MAA Frisco Bridges that Samantha sent to me. It will be available on October 8th to view: #1240, 714 sq ft., $1005.00 per month on a 13month Lease. So, I am still looking. In fact, I called today and MAA also has a studio apartment just opened up for least: #1357, 799 sq ft., $1357 per month.

Samantha is doing a FANTASTIC job of helping me with my credit repair. I will be writing the letters today to send out. She literally went line item by line item with me yesterday on my credit report. Thank you, Samantha!  Key Credit Repair NEVER did that, and I’d been paying them since April and here I am in October and my credit is still not even in the 600’s. 

Roy, I  am hoping to land a part-time job soon to compensate for the $200 deficit in salary criteria, in terms of what MAA will work with me on.

• she had a few accounts

• she had an  eviction balance that is $5700 it will be 7 years old in november so it will be removed.

• she also had a civil judgment that is  $250 she was paying rent of 850 at that time and another balance for a broken lease $5000

• she paid all off  and we update the credit bureaus to update her record.

• she is very pleased for the assistance given she has asked to close her record and if she may ever need our help she will sign up again.
